From out of the fiery furnace came the work of Tasmanian industrial and studio potters. This exhibition features colonial era artisan potters such as Worby, Sherwin, Port Arthur, Goulburn, Yeates, Huon, Campbell Bros and McHugh. Early 20th century saw a great flowering of work of women artists including that of studio potters such as Maude Poynter, Violet Mace and Mylie Peppin. This exhibition is a must for all who pursue creativity in clay.
