Logistics
Cost of visit is $5.00 per child
No more than 30 students in one sitting.
Teachers and parent helpers visit Free of Charge up to a ratio of 1:8 teachers /
parents to students. Additional parents will be charged at the same rate as students - $5
Students to be divided into groups of 10 or less with an adult supervisor
30+ students require two separate visits (can be back to back)
Students can have their lunch either in the Narryna grounds (rubbish bins provided) or Prince’s Park, Battery Point.
Large school groups (30+) often divide their time between Narryna and the
Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery. See resources below.
Alternatively, large groups (30+) can divide their time between Narryna and
the historic Battery Point village. A valuable new resource is the self-guided
walking tour, In Bobby’s Footsteps. See resources below.
Teachers are welcome to visit the house free of charge prior to the visit
There is a reserved bus zone at the front of Narryna
An introduction to Narryna will be given when students arrive
Staff and volunteers will take small groups through the house and will be available for questions
Narryna will send an invoice to the school after the visit.
Please note: Narryna may be closed for annual maintenance during July & August. We are sometimes able to facilitate school bookings during this period, however, there may be times when this is not possible due to our maintenance program. If you wish to book during our closure period, please submit your booking form and we can advise if your proposed dates are available.
